Everyone’s favorite living actress Meryl Streep should start practicing how to spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious because she has joined the cast of Mary Poppins Returns as Mary’s cousin, Topsy.
The sequel stars Emily Blunt as Mary and Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, a friend of the magical nanny.
Streep is no stranger to musicals. Her most recent Oscar nomination was for playing The Witch in the big screen adaptation of Into the Woods. The movie would reunite Streep with Blunt, her Into the Woods and Devil Wears Prada co-star, and director Rob Marshall who is directing the Poppins sequel.
According to Variety, “the story will take place in Depression-era London (when the books were originally written) and follows a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, who, along with Michael’s three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss.”
Mary Poppins Returns is set to be released in 2017, until then you can get your Streep fix with her latest film Florence Foster Jenkins which opens August 12.
Are you all ready to be slayed by the Queen of Acting again?
"The film, titled Mary Poppins Returns, will be center on a now-grown Michael Banks and his three children in the aftermath of a tragedy, and the help they get from Poppins and Jack in 1930s London." x

I hope it's better than it sounds, because it sounds like a flop.
