It's important to respect a person's preferred pronouns but when about 0.5% of the population actually identifies with a non-cis identity, you can't get mad at people for not knowing that preferred pronouns even exist in the first place, especially when our society is conditioned to give a noun a pronoun by physical traits.
Plus, it was really dumb when my fraternity put a preferred pronoun section on our name tags since the Greek system is largely designed for a binary gender system.
