Genesis Davila won the crown at the Miss Florida USA 2017 on July 16, but was stripped of her title just days later for violating the competition rules.
According to Grant Gravitt, the pagaent's executive director, Davila, 24, defied policy by using professional hair and makeup artists for the show.
"We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules," Gravitt told Miami's ABC 10 on July 22. "Whether it's something major or minor, it's all about keeping an equal and level playing field. Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that's just not acceptable in our system."
"She made a poor life choice."
Gravitt says he received multiple complaints from the other contestants that Davila had violated the rules, and found eyewitnesses that corroborate their stories.

some are salty because she jus showed up a few months ago from PR, snatched a city crown two months ago and now she won when she barely lives in Florida
da rule is there to have a level playing field, most girls have sponsors but some of da lesser known areas don't so da rule has been in place for years
its sad because i kno Genesis would have slayed da competition but she didn't abide by da rules and da haters found out and told on ha
