where i live in Texas , the mix of gentrification / dingy hole-in-the-wall type spots tho is pretty mixed , tho i kinda guess that's almost intrinsic to the gentrification process is to retain some of the shabby charm of the previous established businesses
i live in a pretty gay city (Austin, TX) but we really don't have many gay clubs

but the best one is a v grungy and dirty old club that plays the. BEST. music. that's why i go tbh i could give a **** about the other queers honestly. they play Into You and it's not some tragic remix and they play it in full and i go and get my life every other Tuesday
