I just graduated high school and never have a job.

McDonalds: It was my very first job and I have two weeks notice, I only worked there for a year because they were the only ones willing to a hire a 15 year old at the time in town.

Sushi Shop: Basically my manager told me there wasn't enough hours for me to get anymore shifts, she told me I could stay but she had to prioritize hours to people who've been there longer, so I quit.

Campus Crew (Clothing Store): I worked there for over a year, it was my favourite job. Unfortunately it was on the other side of town and I didn't have a license yet, so I had to give my two weeks notice because it cost me too much money to get there.

Movie Theatre: My boss called me a fairy and princess and said I was a women, I walked out that night.

Tim Hortons: I worked there for a year, it was a great job but I needed a job that paid better money so I switched to serving so I could get tips.

Caseys (Restaurant): worked there for 2+ years, only quit because I moved. Loved it there.

That was all through high school, since I've attended post-secondary I only left one job because the hours weren't enough for me to sustain a living.

I never settle for horrible management or bad hours, if I could find a better job I'm gonna take it.

lol, this is literally my last day at my current job, I gave my notice three weeks ago. For the past five months I've worked as a Community Assistant with American Campus; I quit early because I have an on-campus job that starts on August 1st that will pay more and have better hours. The on-campus one is technically one I've had since September 2014 but I decided to do preseason in August this year.

The only other job I've ever quit is my first job at my home town's little movie theater owned by my dad's now-wife's family. I only quit that to go to college. I worked there for 3 years and 3 months.

I've never been fired and I hope it stays that way!

I hear places like McDonald's and Call Centres have high staff turnover rates even by retail standards. It's a stressful job but it's also a job you can get with no experience and pick up quite easily so that makes sense.

Not letting you use the bathroom outside of your breaks though. That must be illegal!



To be fair I've let people go who are new but just haven't picked it up fast enough. Not in two weeks though. More like two months after training, warnings, reminders etc.

Getting your hours cut sounds really horrible. I'm glad it hasn't happened to me and hope it doesn't.

I quit two jobs. the first one was retail and I was there three years and they kept promising me a promotion to assistant manager and never did so I got fed up and left. the other job I got was to work at a nursery (plants) and the manager was super homophobic and liked to embarrass me and was very rude to me around the straight coworkers. plus I had no real lunch break he would just decide when I could go to lunch. I lasted three days, picked my check up a few weeks later and never looked back.

Quit my job because my paycheck was 7 ****ing pounds.

i quit my first job at a catering section of an amusement park for company picnic's because they weren't doing very well financially and cut everyone's hours back to like 1 or 2 days a week

i also dropped a lemonade stand, that cracked into a million pieces, and my manager yelled at us and sent us home early, so that kind of also contributed to it even though i was already going to quit anyway

i am quitting my current job in a week because i am going to college in a different city

I almost got fired bc I showed up barred out... I made my dad drug test me and I was clean which makes no sense cause I should've shown up positive for like 3 types of drug My manager actually ended up not caring at all, he just said he's heard things about me and to "stay straight." I quit soon tho because being a cashier at a grocery store is a bitch
