That is not accurate (when it comes to Brasilia anyway). Other concerts and events aside, it's been used by Flamengo, the biggest and most famous soccer team of the country, in several opportunities due to Maracanã being closed for the Olympics.
I agree, however, that it's not fair to the population that the government decides to host such big events when we're lacking in crucial and far more important areas like Health Care and Education.
But hey, that's also on the leaders this country has had in the last 13 years, who faked numbers to pretend the economy was doing great in order to get re-elected.
P.S.: It just hit me, Beyoncé's concert happened
before the World Cup.
