About the VMAs being fan voted. I honestly think they just have fans vote in order to get people interested and in actuality MTV picks the winner ( with the votes as a suggestion). A good example of this is JT's Mirrors winning VOTY in 2013. I mean I know he is popular, but not to the demographic these days that would go online and vote. Especially when Taylor Swift was in the same category nominated for IKYWT.
