It's new hardware, I think all the major third parties will jump on at first either way.

If Nintendo makes it a success via their software then I think they have a slim chance at keeping 3rd parties for the generation. Although, Nintendo is stupid and I can see them ****ing it up.

If I had spare money I would buy this, but sadly that's not the case.

Going from sub-Gamecube graphics to sub-Xbox One graphics is a massive jump. Plus, Nintendo has great artstyles that transcend tech.

I reckon there's more to this, but this is honestly the best thing for Nintendo right now.

To be fair, Pokemon hasn't needed to be on a portable console since wifi gaming became a thing, where its main aspects of battling and trading via link cable became obsolete. The only reason it really stayed on a portable was because the two had this symbiotic relationship where they both benefit each other.

Nintendo yet again thinking they can survive just on first party games The Wii U proved that is not the case

While this is true Gamefreak for whatever reason has been against making a mainline Pokemon game for console.
