The UK’s favourite R&B girl trio M.O have charmed the US as the band announces that they are signing a US deal with the remarkable Interscope Records.
Frankee, Nadine and Annie are the three girls that form M.O. With their catchy 90’s inspired R&B beats they have taken UK by storm. Starting off as an independent band only three years ago the girls have already supported big industry names including Ciara, Krept & Konan, Little Mix and Stormzy and as we reported in the new issue of NOTION, this is only the beginning. When we caught up with the trio for our latest issue of Notion 73, they had just signed with Polydor Records and were excited to have worked with producers including Dallas Austin, Prince Charlez and Bless Beats, also known as co-makers of some of Madonna’s, Michael Jackson’s and Rihanna’s tunes.
Now, to top that success up, M.O’s notable beat waves seem to have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to the home of Lana del Rey, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar, the legendary Interscope Records. The Interscope A&A chairman and CEO of Interscope, John Janick commented on the signing stating:
“I’ve been watching M.O connect with music fans, especially over the course of 2016. As well as being great writers, the group has a sound that draws on some of the greatest dance and R&B music, while being unique to them at the same time. We are really excited to build on the current UK success and break them here in the US.”
With M.O’s latest Caribbean-infused track “Who do you think of?” being A-listed at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, broke the Itunes top 20 last week and amassed over three million streams on Spotify there is no wonder why the U.S has decided to jump on board.
