It's a teaser trailer for comic con, it's not supposed to reveal the plot in it. What teaser trailer has ever revealed the plot? Teasers set up the movies background to give a launching point for it, and I'd say this did a pretty good job at that. From this first trailer alone we can see:
Wonder Woman lives in a community of all females. A man washes up on the shore of the community and she finds out about a war that's engulfing and destroying mans world. She decides to leave her seclusion to fight in the war (Why? We don't know yet.) and to learn about the outside world.
That's all setup. We still don't know what the main conflict in the movie is, just like we didn't after the first trailers for Doctor Strange, Justice League or Suicide Squad. Doctor Strange is in an accident and then joins the cast of Inception 2? Batman is getting a team together to fight someone? Amanda Waller wants to control criminals to get them to do something for her? We're about 6 months too early to dismiss the film for being plotless.
This has the added difficulty of selling a female movie to a super sexist demographic.
(I know I've missed out a lot of the obvious Wonder Woman's origins, but I'm just using information the trailer - it doesn't mention that she's on an Island.)
