It has been over 22 years and Sega has announced they are releasing the true Sequel to Sonic & Knuckles for Sega Genesis called " Sonic Mania " created by Sonic Team in real time 16 bit graphics. Sonic Mania will "reimagine" zones from Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles as well as brand all new levels.

The game will be available on
Xbox One, PS4 soon.

I'm super excited for this though! It's created by the people who ported the old games on HD systems so hopefully they get the physics right (unlike Sonic 4).

It's also not coming to iOS/Android and it's not made by Sonic Team. Sonic Team are making Sonic 2017 for PS4/Xbox One/NX/PC.

This isn't a sequel to Sonic and Knuckles...what kind of made-up nonsense is that? Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was the sequel, it came out years ago.

Sonic Mania is just a celebration of the game's anniversary. It features remixed levels from past games.
