Niantic has already stated they intend on adding all generations so everyone against the idea should accept it or quit playing it now while you're ahead. They have not said how long the wait in between each rollout each generation would be. I'm guessing we won't get generation 2 for at least another 3 months minimum.

They will need the hype. More games like these will start popping out, they probably won't be as successful but I imagine competition is coming.

I Think the first thing that should happen in less than 3 months is the first event to capture the legemdary birds or Mew/Mewtwo, or all.

And then 1-2 months after that rolling gen 2 would be smart.

Gen 3 has a bigger number of pokemon so that should be interesting

When Hoenn comes out is when I'll be making my real journey across the land

I honestly want Alola Pokemon before Johto. I say Pokemon Go should release them just a few weeks after Sun & Moon is released to promote them both and to get us really familar with the new Pokemon. For people who haven't been playing in the last 20 years, generations 2-6 will be completely new and will be exciting even if they are released next year.

Besides, I know plenty of ppl who play the game who never got into Pokémon before, so they will be delighted to have newer ones. Anyone who isn't is free to stop playing

The main issue is how it's incorporated. I hope they have some toggle where you choose which gen or regional dex appears, rather than the eventual MESS of having all 700+ available at once (it would be IMPOSSIBLE to find rates when we have to compete with not only pidgey/rattatas etc, but also hoot hoot/ledyba etc

The only reason this game is hyped up is because people in their late 20's - early 30's are playing it and that's what we grew up on. Classic Pokemon. The newer Pokemon are harder to memorize and very easily forgettable. I can name every Pokemon in the first 150. After that I can't. There is too many weird ones and their names are nothing memorable.

If they incorporate the newer generation, I feel like their going to lose a lot of players. And how can an app on your phone hold that much data to incorporate over 700 Pokemon?!

Damn those Ratattas, Weedles and Pidgeys.

It's only boring because you get Weedles, Pidgeys and Ratatta's every block you turn. I think they need to update the map with some other Pokemon. I'll agree though, I have been slowly turning away from this game now.

On the way home today I saw a Wortoyle and a Mankey nearby, but couldn't pin their location.

Lol, ppl will lose interest regardless, especially when they hit a brick wall in terms of leveling (25-30ish) and catch the 142 (?) available pokés. Adding new generations will extend the lifespan of this game (to whatever degree is possible, given a decline is inevitable once the cool/fad factor fades), and genwunners are not required to play

And most ppl can't even name the original 150 I can't count how many times I've heard "omg I just caught the cute dragon thingy!" or misnaming of pokémon, etc.

ya , they need to focus on fixing the damn location ability (and the servers) first before they try adding anything else

also 1 on 1 battles and other ways to train ur Pokemon than just the damn stardust would help too , the first incarnation of Pokemon Go feels more like a prototype than it does a fully realized game , they should know that people's interest would wain with so few features / such limited capabilities

they should also consider adding a Battle options where you can battle random ppl that you meet face to face tbh. it would make the game even more interactive and create a need to actually talk to ppl lol
