Can you make eye contact with another person w/o looking away or feeling awkward?

I was talking to someone in my class and they literally couldnt hold eye contact for more than 2 seconds

The appreciation for eye contact has always been a mystery to me. I don't get the appeal. Neither does my best friend, so we once tried to hold a short conversation with constant eye contact and it was the most awkward, borderline creepy 3 minutes of our lives. So, yeah, I'll side with the person you were talking to

Nah I don't make eye contact w people, I look at their nose or something. I'm scared that if I look directly into their eyes I'll go cross-eyed or something lmao

I only look into someone's eye when we're talking about something meaningful or important.
