I feel like with the Internet social rights movement, more and more young adults become aware of other people socially and economically.
Older generations, who are mostly Republican, are dying, and young people vote Democratic. Internet is changing the society.
What do you think?

They absolutely do need to reform - particularly when they're this nuts.

But that internet generation growing up in Republican states are still likely to preserve conservative values and value conservatism and things like the second amendment. But it is going to be hard for them to gather support from young people when so many of key figures in the party are homophobic. Not just because of their stance on gay marriage, but genuinely just hating on the gay lifestyle.

Worth considering that us "internet generation" kids will likely change our views a fair bit well. When you consider that a lot of the people on the Trump bandwaggon in the US right now grew up in the 60s - supposedly the most expressive and loving decade... then I think that is pretty telling. Once we start seeing change, and when are crisis', people always want something or someone to blame when they're angry. That is what Trump has tapped into, and what Nigel Farage tapped into in the UK which resulted in Brexit.

There will certainly be a place for someone like Kaisch or even Rubio. But I can't imagine the US electing someone like Cruz again.

Internet is changing the society...the privilege is being abused and misused but I do agree it's powerful

If people were informed they'd understand the issues that have gone on economically and socially as well as foreign policy and they'd be able to make a decision one way or the other.
If more of the youth end up out of jobs and struggling they'll hopefully become informed to understand what is going on for this to occur.

It can go either way.

Not a strong chance particularly with the changing demographics of the U.S. and his seemingly endless number of divisive statements, actions, and proposals.

Yeah, Nate Silver also continuosly predicted that Donald Trump would never win the GOP nomination and yet here we are (and yes, I know these articles are months old).

^ That's cute, but we're talking about the general election and not the Republican primary. Trump got a lot of mileage by being able to get White working class non-voters out to vote in the Republican primaries. The general is a different ball game and it will practically take an extreme amount of apathy from voters on the left and independents coming out in droves for Trump to get him over the hump. For comparison sake, Bush got over 40% of the Latino vote when he won in 2004. You know good and damn well Trump isn't getting close enough to sniff that percentage and we're in 2016.

Trump will be starting off with a significant deficit just because of the solid blue states. Trump would essentially have to win a good chunk of the swing states to make up that ground.

My point was simply that even Nate Silver can (and has been during the entire Republican primary) wrong. That's it. I wasn't trying to make a case for Trump for the general election. I'm not even voting for him.

^ Okay. My bad. I thought you were trying to advance an argument about Trump's chances in the general based on Nate Silver numbers being off in the Republican primary. I think Silver being off in the primary is understandable given that no one knew how many traditional non-voters Trump would turn out.
