What I really want is one of two things:

If we're not near the end, I want some solid development for newer members of the main cast who are replacing classic characters.

If we are (and I both hope and believed we are not) close to the end, I want really good, really meaningful planning for Meredith and her life, especially her potential parallels with her mother (you know what I'm getting at here). They could make that something really unique and amazing for a medical drama and go out with some brilliant writing and acting.

Also, without revealing who's still around, what new characters are here, etc. I want to say one thing - I absolutely refuse to consider the idea of Grey's without Meredith Grey. The only thing that makes me nervous is Ellen's reluctance to be openly enthusiastic about signing on for new seasons. I don't even think that Shonda would end the series if she left because it's grown into so much more now, but I don't want to watch this show without her.

Well, first of all, hypothetically, there's currently the name of the hospital currently . And there's always the half-sister and the step sister . It wouldn't be hard to continue the Grey legacy without the actual Grey herself.

But like I said, I don't expect the end to come soon and I expect it to deal with certain particular topics.
