Yes he could, but that would require him to be a very different man than the one he is proposing himself to be with different policies and ideologies in mind.
The man he proposes himself to be? Hell no. He incites far too much division through his rhetoric. Fear mongering without conclusive plans, offering Kasich to essentially the run the country for him while he maintains a chairman role, and lacking the political understanding required to constantly maintain relations on a domestic and global level, do not show me he's ready to be president (or ever will be).
