Pokemon has been cringey most of it's existence, it wouldn't surprise me if this movie didn't change that.

No. They should go big budget CGI route instead, a live-action movie is 99.9% likely to end up a diaster

Pokemon could work as an animated CGI movie. But live action? I can't see it. I just get glimpses in my head of how horrible the beasts from The Last Airbender looked.
