I hope it stays there, I have loved every single film of the franchise so far (despite the lack of originality) even more so than some of the 90's and 80's movies. I hope they give Captain Kirk a love interest this time, after all he had a kid with the female doctor (now played by Alice Eve) in the 80's franchise.
By the way for comparison, ST had a 95% and Into Darkness had 87%.
I wonder if Pavel Chekov (Anton Yelchin) will die on screen, it could be a beautiful and emotional moment.
Anyway I really can't wait for another adventure of Captain Kirk and his Starship Enterprises fleet.
Yeah, I just got back. It was pretty good. Way better than "Into Darkness" (which may not be saying much), but I enjoyed it. It had a nice, tight screen play, and it was original. It wasn't some weird rehash of "The Wrath of Khan." It had really good special effects and fight scenes, and I liked the fact that it actually took place in deep space. It always bothered me that the crew wound up back on Earth in the first two films, when the whole point of Star Trek is to boldly go . . . There was no planet Earth in this film. Idris was good as the villain and the plot twist with his character was thought provoking and entertaining. There were some references for the harder core Trekkies about the Zindi and Romulan wars. Mr. Sulu was gay, which was a nice nod to George Takei, and he and his husband had a little girl. Spock and Uhura's relationship drama continued. Everyone was well utilized, IMO. I give this film two phasers up! Franchise got back on track with this one.
