It's like 40 times easier to cut up a video in Photoshop, reorder, crop each scene to where you want it in the frame, and then export it to use in Instagiffer.
The problem with instagiffer is that when you have a rectangular video, and two scenes you want are on opposite sides, you can't nearly as easily use them. Plus, it's tedious to keep exporting/importing frames when you want scenes that aren't back-to-back when all you do in Photoshop is drag it where you want it.
