She was never really in the Taylor squad actually, she just made her cameo in the Bad Blood video and attended the BBMAs with the "squad". The meda automatically branded everybody in that video as a member of the "squad" even though some (Z included) never really were, when you look at it she never hang out with T outside of the two events cited before. So no, I don't think that Zendaya is the real "fake friend" in this whole situation.

as anyone routinely checks any other form of social media (their snaps or instagram), I have also become comfortable/addicted to checking this crap. I joined gaga-gaily years ago, and eventually ATRL as well, as a means to discuss lady gaga and music/pop music/pop culture in general (which I still obviously enjoy doing). However, over time I became increasingly annoyed with stan culture which led me to start using the username misanthrope because of how stans bring out my misanthropic tendencies. I dont lack sense whatsoever, self-discipline maybe but not sense.

Zendaya knew that she would just be one of Taylor's token black girls and figured out that being in the Lemonade Squad is much better and much more rewarding.
But I doubt she's even in the Lemonade Squad either Wouldn't surprise me if she's never even heard from Beyoncé since they left the set for the shoot

Listen to the phone call. Kanye even refers to her as a friend and then she goes on TV and backs tabs him instead of asking him about the lyric in question. Kanye was clearly trying to do the right thing here. The truth is if Taylor wasn't down with it she would've said no.
Taylor even posted on instagram a picture of Zendaya's graduation day, saying how proud she was. I'd say she's definitely a friend. or at least used to.
Not all these celebrities were genuine friends with Taylor. With some of them, it was all a PR set up to give them more promo and get more fans via Taylor. That must have been the case with Zendaya.
Zendaya is a nobody. She has no identity and she managed to get herself in that Beyonce video which makes everyone automatically assume she has cred without anyone bothering to notice she has none. When you attach yourself to Beyonce (Nicki Minaj when her career was starting to go nowhere in 2014 before her features on Beys remixes), it gives you cred.
