New Album Details
3/1/2010
After much anticipation, Evanescence front woman, Amy Lee confirmed today that Evanescence is in fact going into the studio this week to work on their third studio album with Grammy Award Winning producer Steve Lillywhite. The band's new album is scheduled for a late Fall 2010 release date.
"I can't explain how excited I am to make this record, said Amy Lee. "Over the past year and a half these songs have become the center of my life, and I can't wait to hear what they grow into in the studio. I think our sound is evolving into something that will surprise people, in a very good way. I feel, as always, that growth can be an incredible, limitless thing if you let it. I never want to make the same album twice."
They've been in the studio since last week.
According to Amy, the album is going to a more electronic sound (possibly channeling the old sound of their demo album, Origin) a la Portishead, Massive Attack, Bjork Depeche Mode...and possibly CSS. :X. .
Their album is being produced by Steve Lillywhite (U2, Dave Matthews Band, 30 Seconds to Mars) and Will Hunt.
Here's some of their Twitter Updates

@AmyLeeEv: Second week in the studio is off to a great start. Still recording loads of drums and percussion...

This was her update last year when she presented the demos to the record label. Fortunately they love it enough to give them a thumbs up unlike what happened during the The Open Door era where the label wanted to scrap the whole album and have them start all over again. Hopefully, they'll back this album more so than TOD.

@AmyLeeEv I love the dark, beautiful groove we're working on right now
If anything, the Intro they used on their New York/Brazil show last year could be a good indication of what the sound of the new album will be like.
and this was posted by them, (FYI: It's not a song, just some random noise they're making) just them messing around in Amy's studio.
