Yes, just months after it was confirmed that Cheryl was stepping down from the judging panel, it has been claimed that she simply can’t keep herself away from the show, and will be back on our screens in the autumn.
However, according to reports, she won’t be on the judging panel, and instead will be helping Simon Cowell whittle down his acts at the judges’ houses stage of the competition.
An insider tells the Daily Star: “Both Cowell and ITV bosses are in agreement Cheryl would be the perfect person to help him pick his finalists.
“Everyone knows how well Cheryl and Simon work together on and off screen. Cheryl also has a proven track history mentoring the girls as a judge, she’s still incredibly popular with fans and it would keep her within the X Factor family despite her quitting.”
