Taylor has said all along that she didn't know about or approve the line "I made that bitch famous" or hear the song beforehand, and the video supports that.

I can totally imagine that she was planning to go along with what they discussed in the video—"haha, joke's on you cause I already knew"—until she actually heard the song. She is exactly the kind of person who would find "I made that bitch famous" extremely degrading, and that is the line that has been the focus of all of her discussion about the song (Tree Paine's initial statement, her Grammy speech).

On top of that, in the video she says that she's "so close to overexposure." She wouldn't have gone back on her claim that she would play along in order to get more media exposure because she knew she didn't need more media exposure. The smart thing for her to do—even after hearing the line she didn't approve of—would've been to play along. But she was probably so offended by "I made that bitch famous" (and why wouldn't she be, when she's worked for this every day since she was 12 years old?) that she had to speak out about it.

And now here we are. Exactly where she and Kanye tried to avoid ending up. Overexposed and "feuding" instead of friends.

I'm not a fan at all but I'll just say this: I'm fully with Taylor in this case.

I hate when people gang up on celebrity hate wagons. It's really gross and I've seen it happen to so many of my faves.

Luckily, Taylor's backlash isn't that bad in the long run, despite what ATRL is trying to paint it as. My faves Brit/Xtina/Iggy have had this witch hunt going on @ them at certain stages in their careers (with Iggy it never ends ) but Taylor will be fine! She'll come back with a powerful album.

And also, make no mistake: about 80% of the people on ATRL who are doing the hating are basically people who have waited -forever- to drag Taylor for something. It's just that this "something" has never been substantial enough to carry on it's own. Calvin harris, the industry's biggest ****boy (even his stans admit it on Reddit), was an easy cosign: he's an ex + he has a body that every superficial ATRL'er thirst for. It's all very transparent, since, on ANY other day, you'd see these people making awful comments about Kim/Kanye, but now that they've become vessels to channel their long harbored feelings of hatred, they're being praised. I like Katy tho, so I won't say much, but i'm getting tired of her not @ directly.

Anyway, rooting for TS6 tbh.

I don't know which is more tiring: seeing so many froth at the mouth over a story filled with conjecture or trying to navigate this site and getting 522-ed every other page.

All I'll say is this: despite both parties probably being at fault I'm more inclined to believe Taylor's version of events. For the most part her story has remained consistent, and Kimye recording the conversation without her knowledge and then splicing it rather than posting the thing in full really says it all.

There are so many people I know who are turning against her, hopefully she finds a way to rebuild her image like she did from Red to 1989.

Ngl, I thought the tape didn't exist and she didn't exactly sound as nice as she normally does on it but it's really no big deal. Even if she accepted the idea that doesn't mean she couldn't let other young girls know that despite the joke between her and Kanye they are responsible for their own success.

This is actually really good coz now she knows who are the fakers and who are her real friends. S6? Will be the first Selena album I buy and she's definitely gained a new fan.
