I've had the most hilarious experience on GGD the last week.
There's this moderator called Haroon who was so transparent that you couldn't even see him as he smacked WP after WP for the smallest offenses.
I had gotten to like three WPs after spending a few months on eight points. If you ask me why, well it's mostly because I stuck to the World News subforum and had a lot of heated debates that sometimes went off the deep end.
Anyway one day I'm in a bad mood and I tell someone off (after he was rude to me), and this moderator Haroon issues me 2 warning points and then goes on this uncalled for rant about how it seems I disregard the rules and he will no longer go easy on me.
At this point I'm like
... seriously what kind of deduction based on half-assed circumstantial evidence? That's probably indicative of the kinds of people I was butting heads with there so now you understand why I occasionally went Pompeii on their ass.
A few days later I get another two warning points from Haroon. This time it was for two reasons. The first was me telling someone that I'll "put it simply so they can understand" when discussing Computer Security, the field I'm studying. The second was telling someone they were being pathetic for assuming that someone over the age of 50 would have the same intricate understanding of computers that a younger person would.
A load of ******** right? There are harsher words exchanged by people over Katy's album.
So now I'm sitting at 8 points, a little salty but at this point I decide to no longer argue with the same people who always get on my nerves. I go to this one thread where the OP wants to have a discussion about Jill Stein. In my salt, I make one off-handed remark about how Jill Stein can go screw herself with something rough and sandpapery (quoting that old viral youtube video Let Me Borrow That Top) for many reasons I go on to explain throughout the thread relevant to that video.
Considering I was not being rude or insulting anyone in the thread given that I didn't quote anyone, and that's something that people have said about Trump or even Hillary more times than I count without repercussion, I thought that innocent off-handed remark would go by.
Next thing you know I'm issued another TWO points by Haroon yet again for being "rude and insulting". To whom? Jill? The same person who insults anyone who supports Hillary every time she opens her mouth?
So here I am dumfounded for having received 6 WP's within 1 week by the same moderator.
I try to make a post in the support forum but I'm told I can no longer post. That's hilarious. You can't appeal warning points by posting in the private support forum (which is just between you and the moderators). What kind of ****ed up system is that?
So, a little confused, I use a VERY old account I had that I never used to ask the moderators why I received such a heavy penalty for something so benign.
Without getting a response, I get instabanned by Haroon yet again for having a duplicate account and my original THREE MONTH ban on my original account became four months. Talk about a hilarious system.
A little pissed but not really giving a **** because GGD has become boring given that no Gaga album has come out and Trump supporters are too stupid to have a rational conversation with (not to mention Jill Stein has done nothing to talk about), I make another account just to send a message to a friend telling him that I've been banned. I didn't even post anything.
Suddenly I get told that I've been banned by Haroon for having a dupe account.
...
A few days go by and I'm having a drink with my friend here in the dorm. I tell him the story and he goes on laughing about how I'm all salty about getting banned from a Gaga forum. I tell him it's because of how it happened not that it happened.
So he makes a new account (with me) called Queen Cersei and starts posting random Cersei stuff using Cersei gifs. Admittedly it wasn't a "serious" account but it's not like he was trolling anyone.
Next thing you know, Haroon bans the account accusing him of having multiple accounts.
This is when we start laughing uncontrollably. Haroon banned this account because we're in the same location (I'm not even sure we have the same IPs) just because we live in the same dormitory. I didn't even use my own computer/phone because I'm "banned" from accessing the site with 2S160/4.
So basically all MIT students living in my dorm can no longer access Gagadaily. Haroon, a half-assed Silver Moderator, just banned my university dorm.
