The new version - titled Somos El Mundo - has been completely translated, and original writer Lionel Richie has given his seal of approval and blessing, claiming it captures the spirit and message of the original.
The recording will take place next Friday and a large number of Latin singers, including Ricky Martin, Paulina Rubio, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Jon Secada, and of course, Gloria Estefan have all been invited to participate!

YAY! ...well i'm not too excited about this... a lot of old ppl is gon be in the song, idk how I feel abot "somos el mundo, somos los ninos..." but i'm glad my latinos are helping them too!!
