Yes, you are. How can you single out M.I.A. for standing up for these people when there are PoC whom she's fighting for, black people included? In fact, if I'm not mistaken, black people make up most of the Muslim population in the United States so I fail to see how this is being whitewashed.

Her point went beyond race, but people are latching onto her criticism instead of providing productive feedback. In Toronto we saw how Black Lives Matter put a stop to it so they can provide a space for queer PoC. Intersectionality is possible and I'm just confused as to why some people are so resistant to cooperate with each other. We need work together to keep the door open so we can all beat the system.

M.I.A. is talking about how after 9/11 there's been an underlying "us vs them" mentality regarding these people.

This is about America, the media, and the system, how they all manipulate the people to segregate and alienate us further.

And once again, people are latching onto buzzwords instead of seeing the bigger picture. Once again, proving her point.

She doesn't have a point. Police brutality disproportionately against Blacks IS a Black issue.

Ignoring the fact that it is a racially-motivated issue by all simply generalizing the issue obscures that fact that it's primarily affecting Blacks. This is exactly what a society built on white supremacy wants. White people are just looking for any way to tear down anything that empowers Blacks and turn the narrative into something "selfish".

And I'm glad Black people aren't giving their money to someone who supports the obscuring of our issues that are killing our people.

Like if you feel your community is being affected, why aren't you out there protesting and fighting? Black people have had to be the ones to take the brunt of civil rights for almost everyone and it's time you stand up on your own and stop asking us to get our hands dirty for everyone else.

That is so not true. For example, when the United States took possession of Puerto Rico, the people of the island protested and resisted the change which birthed the Independent Movement in Puerto Rico. Sadly the United States responded by jailing, assasinating and surpressing the culture of the island. Such oppression of the Independent Party in Puerto Rico resulted in people switching their alliances because they saw no way out.

Just like Puerto Ricans there are many minorities whom fought for their rights and have gotten silenced and surpressed for it. Their communities have been scattered by the system and face many issues that the black community does. They just don't have a platform. America doesn't let them. And instead of reaching out for help and to fight the system together, you want to alineate us by making these type of comments?
