-They have a 'nerdy/geeky' reputation to many (even though not really) so being a fan of them might open you up to stereotypes etc.
- They often don't make sense. They have futuristic inventions like time travel that end up having major oversights such as how going back in time changes the future etc.
- You have to deal with all them weird ScFi fans that wear t-shirts and masks when you go to see the movie at the cinema.
- The lack of representation for ethnic minorities and gheys

- They often lack a focus on romance and human relationships (both of which are fundamental parts ALL life and unlikely to ever disappear) This is bad as the movies are often overly scientific or technology based and lack the human feel.
