I still dont get why she only came for black artist that stood up for a movement that was well...primarily geared towards black people. Didn't even mention the many artist that remain silent about literally everything...Its confusing

Am like why didn't she attack occupy wall street or the gay marriage movement, she specifically targeted black lives matter, yet there are no Muslims bold enough to stand-up for there freedoms and equally form a movement. Instead of tweeting hate to the movement, yet it faces it already from all corners, she would have used the BLM walks as a way of encouraging American Muslims to also form a movement.

Wow, I'm personally disappointed that Afropunk is segregating M.I.A. for her opinion. Also sad that she spoke up for Muslims and Syrians and this is the treatment she receives. People are proving her point... Lol

She could have articulated herself better, or just said nothing at all. Her point would have been misconstrued regardless.

Ugh, I mean she didn't make her point very well and it wasn't that intelligently thought out. The answer is that other minorities don't have cultural prowess like black artist do and they're going to talk about what is relevant to them, but this move is completely counter productive.

M.I.A is pro BLM (on a global scale) and has been politically progressive from the word go. She wrongly used it to talk about selective empathy in America. Obviously talking about ethnic and religious suffering is closer to BLM then it is to the current Gay Rights movement or Occupy wall street etc. BLM is the only one that is centred on the loss of life, which is whats happening in Mass in a lot of these countries. Criticism should be had through conversation, this essentially discourages people from talking about race which is one of the many criticisms BLM points out.
