It's still early. Early #s say it'll do mid-40s opening in the US, which is decent but not great for the budget this has. It needs to make a crapload of money overseas for them to greenlight a sequel.
I just saw the movie and I was disappointed. It's not godawful but it's nothing special, I'm really disappointed 'cause I've liked all of Feig/McCarthy's other films.
I saw it today, it was cute and I actually laughed quite a lot but seldom PMSL like his other films (Leslie Jones' "room of nightmares" line being the exception). I was never into the Ghostbusters films so wasn't feeling any nostalgia holding me back, it was overall just an above-average comedy and not particularly memorable...
Leslie was clearly the real star, I was disappointed with Kristen and Melissa's roles and it felt like a waste to have them play such toned down characters, especially Kristen. Kate McKinnon felt mostly out of place and like she (or the writers) was trying too hard but she had some funny parts.
I will never understand how/why they had such a big budget, I'd like to see a sequel but they're going to have a hard time coming out ahead on this one.
I actually liked this quite a bit. Some jokes fell flat but I liked that they never gave you enough time to really notice.
I'd give it a 7/10.
I would like to see a sequel but unless they quick edit for China, I don't see this making bank. Shame, the after credit scene got me very excited for the next one.
Finally watched it tonight. It was really good and funny. Kate McKinnon was hilarious and was one of my favorite characters. Kristen Wiig was amazing as well.

I don't remember any, the movie is definitely open to all ages imo.
Was really disappointed. A lot of the comedy fell flat and the plot was super rushed. I barely got to know any of the characters.
Also, Kate McKinnon's character was really forced. I didn't laugh at any of her jokes or antics tbh. My favorite character was probably Kristen Wiig's.
Jokes are not funny, the plot writing is on par with Melissa McCarth's infamous Tammy....
Some of the special effects looked like they were straight out of the 90s..
