Florence Welch has revealed that she is keen to get started on her second album.
This year saw Florence and the Machine shoot to fame with debut Lungs. The record's positive reception has motivated Welch to press on with a follow-up.
"We're recording the second album in January," she told BBC Newsbeat. "[We've] got the plan, I just want to start recording as soon as possible."
The 'You've Got The Love' singer also spoke about the band's success and insisted that fame has not changed her.
"I'm basically the same and everyone's like, 'Aren't you supposed to be some loaded popstar?' and I'm like, 'No, trust me I'm not, I get an allowance'.
"Life hasn't changed. I still get the bus. I have no cash cards so I'm pretty much broke and borrowing money still. My phone's broken, I'm still exactly the same," Welch added. "Sometimes I get scared by the exposure, scared by negative criticism but it's something you learn to deal with and take it less personally."
Florence Welch has described sessions for her forthcoming second album as "a step forward" and "heavier in sound".
After receiving three nominations for this year's Brit Awards the singer returned to the studio last week with producer Paul Epworth to begin working on new material.
She said: "It sounds a bit more fuzzy, a bit harder. If the first album was animal and anatomical I think this one is chemical and elemental."
Debut Lungs is still at number one in the UK album chart after selling more than 700,000 copies since being released in July 2009.
Meanwhile, Welch has also unveiled details of her forthcoming Cosmic Tour.
Florence Welch, and her Machine were left helpless when the band’s instruments were destroyed in a trailer fire whilst on tour in Germany.
However, the Mercury-nominated star plans to use the unfortunate situation to her advantage. “You could hear the harp’s strings ping in the fire. Strange sound. We recorded it and I want to use it in a song,” she told The Sun.
