I don't think so. Katy and Gaga always had the aura of a rivalry around them so that made it seem a little bit more fun to sit back and watch. The situations were different too bc Gaga def released Applause early bc she just KNEW she was gonna crush Katy while I don't think Katy meant any harm to Britney. Just had to get the song out and big in time for the olympics...imo
Nah Britney vs Katy was either planned by their PR teams, which is a nice strategy, or Britney just got caught up in the same Friday than Katy after so much delaying.
There's no war here, Britney is a legend and Katy is one of the most successful popstars this decade. No competition.
But even if it was, this is proof that Katy has no competition when it comes to singles, except probably Rihanna (but they never release at the same time).
