I think both fanbases are just really happy to get new material since they've really only gotten 1 thing from their fave since 2013 which was either widely hated or just a campaign ad and they're focusing on that!

I think it's also because they are not from the same time. Had they debuted at the same year, this would become ugly. But Britney fans are happy while they have the #1 spot.

Both stan for talented, relevant and global artists, not like the ones who lost the fight back in 2013.
