In her interview she said shed LIKE to have an album w/ more upbeat songs mixed with Rated R meaning. She didnt even say she had even started anything yet

The album is only 3 months old! Of course not another album. Logic is all it takes to understand this.

Uh, she released Music of the Sun in August 05, and A Girl Like Me in April 06.7 1/2 months in between. So obviously there's no logic involved.

But lets remember MOTS flopped, and took what seemed forever to move a 1,000,000 WW. This has already moved 1.5 WW and including 2 Top 10 singles and a soon to be chart-topping one.
This project is definitely a NO go; no smart label would WASTE money record a new album and gamble with the chances of getting more money when they can simply make money off of this album (which is approaching near 700,000 in the US) and can get more hits. Def Jam ain't that stupid.

I actually wouldn't mind having a new album. I really want to get some more of the GGGB rihanna (the rihanna I liked a lot in the first place and many others did too.)

Let's Clear This up. Rated R is NOT a FLOP. It has had 2 Top 10 Hits in the US (hopefully a 3rd with Rude Boy), International Smashing with Russian Roulette, and more success to come. Although I think that the whole "last single" tidbit of the news article is a little shaky, I think that as someone else said that would not be a bad way to end this era.

I really want to see some new material from her. Whether it be a new album altogether or simply a *ugh* RE RELEASE, I will be supporting her either way. The way I see it, however, is that I can't buy the whole album again. I can only buy the individual songs off of iTunes or Amazon. But, if she releases a totally new album, I am able to buy that!

Well despite whatever it is that is being released or re-release, "Rated R" is a great album and it's good that she at least has it in her catalog. I think every artist needs a personal album.

But we all know that MOTS flopped, but Rated R has yet to indicate any signs of flopping. It's 3 months old but it has sold over 1.5 million already. It's safe to say that it's a lil under-performing in comparison to GGGB but not a flop. HELL no!

Russian Roulette is approaching 3 m worldwide. Considering the fact that the largest market is the US, and it has sold over 700 k in US, it's like she's sold 2.3 m of them outside(which is amazing). Hard is around 1.2 m in US(platinum)..Yeap, I think it's doing well.

and Rude Boy is showing the signs of a WW smash, this era is fine. No need for another album.
She got FireBomb, Rockstar 101, Photographs, Te Amo under her wings. Rerelease seems practical in her case but not a new album.
