What happened to the time we gave gods and goddess' names to planets.

Sis scientists have been naming stars and planets like this for a long time now

700 years to travel around the sun. Imagine how much our faves could gross in a Planet RR245 year.

We'd have to imagine cuz we wouldn't live long enough to find out.

I'm queen of planets, exoplanets, whatever. Once they give this one a name I'm changing mine to it.

There's probably hundreds of rocks in our neighborhood we don't know about.

Nasa is like that kid that shows their parents everything they find even if it has little importance

They should call it Megara...since Pluto was named after a Disney character, that also happened to be part of Greek mythology.

For one thing we don't have enough deities to name all the stars we discover.

Plus the way they designate these planets is based on a system (I just forget what it is).

Edit: Yeah, the IAU (Earth's only internationally recognized authority on astronomy) is the one that sets the rules on what you can name planets (Venus is one where you can only name hills, valleys, rocks etc after a woman for example) (all 7 planets excluding Earth were named after the obvious deities of Greek/Rome. IAU also dictates that any kind of naming is apolitical (meaning you cannot name something after a country, religion or belief that's current) or after a God/deity after 1900. Anything earlier than that is game.

It is a dwarf planet the same thing pluto got demoted to.
