You need to live somewhere to understand culture. I just don't even think I could begin to describe the vast amount of differences in culture between the two.
Europe of course looks different because it has so much history. Canada has only been a nation since 1867.
If you've been to Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver, of course it won't look very different. Cities all tend to look similar, and those cities are all very international so superficially seem similar to the US.
To experience Canada, you need to go to Québec City, the green belt of Ontario, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, or the wilderness of BC. Nothing like the US, not in any way at all.
