Mariah voice is literally in GBWW. No one else of any ones faves here has that. To say she isn't a legend is fully ignorant.

No critics call her a legend tbh. It's only here in Atrl

It's not only about sales.
Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Public Enemy, The Band, etc have not sold 30 million copies of an album

There is no way anyone in the WORLD can argue Madonna isn't a living legend. She's literally the biggest selling solo musician alive today - she literally is the one musician alive with the biggest amount of records sold.
She has defined and shaped pop music in ways some of the people on this list have NEVER DONE.
|
Well, the op did say they forgot to add Lady Gaga to the list. I wouldn't take their lst too seriously at this point.

The delusion
The only reason she's being mentioned in this thread is because of her brother. She wouldn't be anywhere if he wasn't big.

You are delusional .
Do you see Latoya Jackson being mentioned? Jermaine Jackson?
The fact that she's mentioned prove that she is influential because MJ overshadowed everyone but she still had a big career. I know Janet seems local next to MJ but you cannot deny her impact, you just cannot.

Rock and Roll encompasses all music people. You guys are on a forum about music. You should know this.
|
Are you trying to say that all music is Rock? Because it's not. Pop and Rock are two VERY different genres

If we've yet to see their impact, how do you know they're "impactful"?

What? No. He's saying that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame isn't just for rock music.
Again, look at the inductees and you'll see plenty of R&B, disco, pop, folk and rap artists.

i never heard of this "mariah carey is a legend" thingy outside ATRL. i mean yeah i did read sometime ago at the BET website that she's a "R&B legend" but idk. i dont think she deserves that credential.

You forgot Joni Mitchell too. She's more influential than half of the people on that list.

This is still the biggest kii of the entire thread.
You're 19, not 9. You're on a music board.
You're probably gay.
How can you not know the legendary George Michael?
And at all these teens naming irrelevant artists that didn't proof ****: Poor you.

I hate Rock & Roll, to me it's just a bunch of weird crazy noise and people screaming, but if you like it then good for you I guess...
