The Candian hockey team got wasted partying on the ice after beating the USA in the olympics final in Vancouver. After there antics they issued this statement

We know to keep things classy for the public during the game. We save our private life for later, and anything that goes wrong doesn't get media attention overnight. It takes a few weeks or even months for that to get out.

I wouldn't expect Americans to understand the power of CTV. They are basically running the Olympics at the moment and making so much money. You better believe that CTV spies took these pics and sold them to American media outlets

Yes, I know the game was over, but if Americans won, we wouldn't be out on the ice doing what they did. We keep that stuff private for good reason. Like I said, our athletes stay classy in the public. Like Phelps; his negative attention was long afterward, and he kept it private. He kept things clean during the games. US is smart

Meh. No Canadian cares about this anyways. Plus, it's Canadian ice, so if Americans were on the ice doing that it probably wouldn't be ok.
As I said, CTV got $$$ from the American media and everyone's happy, so win-win
And in the end, the country that has the better reputation in the eyes of the international community when it comes to class is Canada

And I don't see how Canada has a better reputation in class? Your culture is almost identical to the US, you just live north of us.

You did not seriously just say that...American culture and Canadian culture are totally different.

US -- Class? Where were you the last eight years, George Bush has tarnished America's image overseas. Although, since most Americans live with so much pride in their nation, they don't really see anything negative concerning how others view them.

Canada's culture is similar, but still distinct. People in general are somewhat more kind in Canada as opposed to the US, and it helps that our obesity rate is nowhere near America's.

I don't get the big deal, they were blowing off steam, and they had some fun. If it was the other way around, it would be a positive news story in the US.

I'd say that's forgivable if she's from one of the provinces where the drinking age is 18. In some, it's 19.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Canada is a British-French nation in all aspects - including political system and culture, not an American one.
The attitude you have is precisely why a majority of Canadians despise Americans. Canada is one of the most anti-American western nations. I'm not sure why Americans consider Canada their favourite foreign nation.
I don't think you've ever lived in Canada or even know that many Canadians, so I'm not sure how you are even familiar with Canadian culture.
I can tell you that one notable difference to take note of if the two merged would be the White House getting burned down by Canadians…for the second time.

I've been to Canada, it really isn't much different from the US. I've also been to Europe, and those countries are very drastic from Canada & US. Also pointing out cultures, US is more diverse than the British-French influence. Over the past 100 years, we've had immigrants from all European countries and hispanic areas. We're the most culturally diverse country in the world. (I'm not trying to insult Canadians, since I'm of British Canadian descent, I'm just stating facts.)
