No one gets to dismissive other people's grievances and not be challenged on it.
That's fair enough. But maliciousness and obliviousness should not be treated the same way. The malicious deserve to be called out, the oblivious should first be informed in a comprehensive manner.
That's why I'm glad that Rih doesn't use TW/IG like she used to do because I'm not here for her to get in trouble for the smallest things. Plus, I'm sure J.Lo didn't mean any harm, but oh well.
All of the people saying "its just a hashtag" most likely aren't Black. I bet if you had a black loved one who became victim to police brutality, you'd understand the importance of this movement.
and are you solving the problem? are you eradicating it? what are you doing except lashing out on random forums? because i believe none of you have done nearly as much as j-lo has for the gay and latino community. or if you have, provide receipts. i'll retract.
JLo, this is officially the end of your career. You just ended it. Never have you ever spoken up for anything of value when it didn't benefit your career and success. And now you spit in the face of black people everywhere aka the people you've been stealing your identity from for almost 20 years. I hope the backlash for this is massive and she gets fired from every tv network, music label and acting job for the foreseeable future.
This is messy but I want to point out that some people aren't even aware that the origins of the tag are reactionary and ignorant, as opposed to all-inclusive and positive. Something tells me she thought the latter, like a lot of people. People are doing the most, but I hope Jlo also uses this opportunity to educate herself on why its a sensitive topic
Messy! People keep saying 'BLM should change their name to be more accommodating' when it's the people using ALM who to change. White people have taken yet another thing from black people to cope with their feelings of exclusion and get upset when called out about it. Perhaps instead of ALM, it should be #WeAreOne or some corny **** like that
You all forget she is a minority too and has experienced racism in her life, not as bad as most but why would she be against the black lives matter movement? You know that was not her intention, plus it most likely wasn't even her herself tweeting. Sometimes this movement is targeting and wasting energy on the wrong people.
