While I do agrih GFY's success was a reason why MAYBE some people released similar songs she wasn't the first one to release this kinda song... she was obviously inspired by Lana Del Rey it was more poppier version oif ha songs. Like I said not taking away from GFY cuz I think it somehow impacted some people's decisions but I wish people would give Lana more credit. Taylor was heavily inspired by Lana's without you as well.

Plus Britney already did this kinda songs over 10 years but they were never singles.
