ROUND 39
NUMBER BOMB
A party game popular in Southeast Asia, I discovered this game thanks to a Family Feud 4 bonus round. Tonight, we're going to play it for points. Here's how it works:
- Each person that will participate in the game lets me know that they're playing, and I randomly order them.
- I randomly select a number between 0 and 100.
- The first person has to choose a number between 0 and 100. Following their choice, I give everyone a range in which my selected number falls into, where that person's choice is either the upper or lower end of the range.
- The second person now has to choose a number in the range I provided, and I will then provide an even more specific range, where that person's choice is either the upper or lower end of the range.
- This continues until someone selects the number I initially chose, at which point they are eliminated from the game.
If that wasn't clear, here's an example:
The order of players is:
1. Player A
2. Player B
3. Player C
4. Player D
- I select the number 35
- Player A selects 70. I say that the number is between 0 and 70.
- Player B has to select a number between 0 and 70, and chooses 12. I say that the number is between 12 and 70.
- Player C has to select a number between 12 and 70, and chooses 46. I say that the number is between 12 and 46.
- Player D has to select a number between 12 and 46, and chooses 31. I say that the number is between 31 and 46.
- Player A has to select a number between 31 and 46, and chooses 36. I say that the number is between 31 and 36.
- Player B has to select a number between 31 and 36, and chooses 35. Because that was the number, he is eliminated.
Now we would play a round with only players A, C, and D. Players continue to get eliminated one by one until only the winner is left.
