Can a white person explained if I'm right? Do inequality discussions make ya uncomfortable?

I don't know why anyone in their right mind would condone slavery, whether lowkey or not.
If it was just a discussion about the history of racism and slavery, then no I wouldn't feel personally attacked.
I would however feel uncomfortable if the people/persons were insinuating and referring both the past and present together as if there's a correlation. I would feel like I'm being wrongly grouped among an entire race for the actions of people decades before me (because of my race.) No - before someone climbs up my arse, I'm not saying it's reverse racism. It's just rude and uncalled for as I refuse to be held accountable for someone else's actions.
We should in a civilised society stand together as one to fight prejudice and for whichever circumstance, not group or brand people as one for anything, especially race as it's just a sensitive subject for a lot of people.
None of us are barbarians. It's the 21st century. Having calm, productive and mature discussions is what teaches people the history of man and what we can do to prevent previous wrongdoings from ever happening again.
Hopefully there will be a time when two young black parents don't actually have to explain their ancestory and why the other kids at school treat them differently. Does it sadden me that this occurs? Sure it does. Do I feel guilty? Absolutely not.
