While Nintendo and the 3DS are successful, it's no doubt that Pokemon GO has had amazing impact.

Will this inspire Nintendo to perhaps make more apps in the future? Maybe a MarioKart GO? SmashBros GO?

Obviously you wouldn't release FULL games like you would find on Nintendo's hardware, but it would be awesome promotion for Nintendo to reintroduce these franchise's to the next generation who only know of Mobile/Tablet/PC tablets.

Perhaps deliver a game with the general idea of concept and then leave the "wow" factor for first party. Leave them wanting more kind of situation.

The PS4 is successful because it appeals to the older audiences, but the Wii U appealed to hardcore Nintendo fans and Children (for the most part, and that's evident with how Nintendo advertised the console).

They already announced the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem themed mobile games for late 2016.

These games, yes. They have mobile written all over them. Easy to make. And easily fit with micro-transaction model.

I mean like Nintendo going more adventurous. We always knew they were going mobile with supporting apps, and games like AC.

But an actual Pokemon game, or Smash, MK, Mario game? With an actual price tag? Would Nintendo take the risk?

Yes! I just checked the app store and it already has 5million downloads. They would be stupid not to take advantage of that. I am perched for Animal Crossing because Pokemom GO is not the tea. I know they would never put the original games on the store, it would be suicide for their systems but at least try and give us sistrens something better.

Nintendo was already working on Mobile games, sis.

And Pokemon Go will probably plateau and crash, like all mobile games, and show them that there isn't quite the room for market growth that full console releases have.

From what I've seen, the mobile app market isn't financially stable for gaming anyway (most of which is a F2P with microtransaction model; which isn't feasible for a top tier brand like Pokémon in terms of their main series). Especially for a legacy company like Nintendo, this was quite the frisky move. The stable venture is always going to be in the handheld department where the first party companies are more interested in developing specifically for systems like the 3DS.

It's not so much about the specs as to the brand. 3DS operates just fine in its market which is directly tied into the franchises that grew with it. Trying to change tradition like that is going to be impossible since mobile gaming is sort of an alternate branch that doesn't necessary do the same things as a dedicated gaming console.

And it still costs thousands of man hours to develop and produce software. That part won't change literally; besides, I prefer playing Pokémon on a handheld as opposed to a smartphone. It's just part of growing up in a traditional gaming culture.

It's really messy to try an decipher who has the rights to what aspects of Pokemon and how Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokemon Company are related in an of themselves but to my knowledge, Nintendo has little to do with Pokemon Go. So probably not.

It's a free app that literally just came out, of course millions might download it, but how many are actually spending money on the in app purchases? Honestly the people I've been around playing it with and talking to have all mentioned how they're worried at how fast it is becoming inaccessible to new players. All the "wild" pokemon caught are at such a low CP rating that it will take forever to reach an appropriate level to actually beat a gym. I understand that this unequal system is what is supposed to drive the players to buy the in app purchases, but for many that play pokemon, they are already turned off by it and will plan to quit playing.

No. No any game is like pokemon go. You can go out and catch a pokemon anywhere. If you could ride your car and it would made you race in mario kart, it would be okay. Otherwise nothing would be creative as pokemonn go. Everything else they will do will just bomb. I hope they won't make such a mistake.

Its a free app. They will obviously have more people getting it than a 40+ dollar game.
