Instead of calling them straight-up "fat", why not just call them "overweight" instead as a more polite substitute? It's also the term being used in BMI scale.

Overweight has a negative connotation to it. Fat does not.
That's right. In Italian you can say it in many elegant ways. "Ti vedo in carne", "che pinguedine", "come sei adiposo ultimamente"... but if we want to insult we can just say brutto ciccione di merda.

Cause most of them eat a lot of junk food, and addiction to junk food is marketability to a lot of manufacturer. I don't think they need you to tell them tbh, I'm sure they're aware. They don't need someone to be telling them.
