Uh, actually eye witness statements/testimonies usually are evidence. That's why they are used in a court of law. I expect the body cam footage to show events that correlate with what the witnesses have said occurred.

All I'm saying is witnesses can lie too. They have plenty of times. It's also possible to see something different than what actually happened when you're in the heat of the moment and tensions are high. If the cop is telling the truth then they should have no problem confirming once the video is released. Until then, I stand by my original statement.

You're somewhat right. It should be irrelevant, but on ATRL it's not. A lot of people think if you are white you aren't allowed to have an opinion on these things.

Of course white people can have an opinion. In fact, I firmly believe they should. That's the only way to have an open discussion about fixing the problem of racism and privilege.
The problem arises when white people try to tell poc how they should or shouldn't feel about racism. A white person doesn't get to tell a black person how to feel about their people getting gunned down in government/police-sanctioned mass executions. When it comes to racism and humans getting equal treatment, if you're not on the side of solution, you're automatically on the side of the oppressor. There is no room for a middle ground. (but this is drifting into a completely different topic tbh)
