There were a lot of articles at the time saying a percentage of the people who bought the album at 99 cents would have bought the album regardless, so I would say 700-800k. I remember reading at the time Billboard or someone else said up to half the 440k would have bought the album regardless, which would account for the people like me who meant to buy the album but saw the 99 cent deal as a great opportunity.
No one knows how many of those 440,000 who bought the discounted album would still buy it at the full price. What if half of them would still buy it? Probably around 900K copies sold first week.
BTW anyways was predicted to sell 800k-900k before before the discount, so???
