Do you guys have any tips. Is the only thing you can do watch the footprint thing at the bottom and watch it turn into two and one footprints? Is the rustling grass a hint? How do you guys know which direction to go? Because I feel like Pokemon pop up that weren't even in the bottom right
When they disappear from the bottom right, are they still there later or did you miss your chance?
I was trying to catch a Skarmory today until I realized it was a Fearow. Still lost it
Hatched a Pikachu though!

I think that's stupid that you can easily so catch another main starter Pokemon so easily. I understand this is a fun game to get out and hunt, but it should resemble the game in a sense with difficulty and rareness to catch. And what about Squirtle? Can you run into him ever?
I feel like this game should be harder. Like to get another main starter, you have to leave your 50 mile radius or something. Now that be hard. I mean who wants to drive an hour just to catch a Squirtle, or in your case a Blastoise?
(Then yet again, this game needs to save cache or data within your GPS. Blastoise could show up for someone here, but not for you if your game keeps track of where you are when you first started the game).

I was catching Pokemon like wildfire just now. The shadow Pokemon / footprints thing is to show you how close that Pokemon is. When you catch them, it unlocks the shadow and actually shows the Pokemon.
It's basically one of those games, like scavanger hunts, where you walk in a certain direction while paying attention to that bottom right box. If the Pokemon you are looking for moves up in the list, you are getting closer (hence less footprints). If they move down or disappear, you need to retrace your steps and get it back in your vision and take another direction. So NO, the Pokemon did not LEAVE the area if you lose it in the bottom right field. It just means you aren't close to it. Yet again, I haven't played it enough to know if they eventually DO disappear. I usually have gone back to the area and they are still there...
It's kind of fun.

I think they just want everyone to catch them all, lol. I've caught a few Squirtles and Charmander. I would always tap the little nap that says what around me and walk around my house or park.
It could be glitches or just plain luck that I caught the Blastiose. I've only seen people catch a second stage evolution Pokemkn, so for me to catch the final evolution kind of gave me a mini heart attack. If you make it that exclusive, I feel like people aren't going to play it as much. 50 miles is quite far for some that don't have a car (like me).

I've seen a few secondary evolution near me as well. I usually avoid them. I don't see the reason to have two of the same Pokemon if you just level up the main starter. Like if I saw a Golbat near me, I would ignore it until I ran into a Zubat (which I did!)
And yeah, but do you think all 150 Pokemon, including Mewtwo) will be within a 10 mile radius anyways? I doubt you'll catch all 150 within a block away from your house. Like if I want a Koffing, where would I find it? Or a Staryu? Ponyta?

I try to catch them all for the experience points. Same. That's what I usually do (I have a stock full of Doduo that I need to transfer). It also feels more "satisfying" when you're evolving the Pokemon, but it's still cool to catch them if you can.
On Serebii, they even listed Mew, so I'm sure we can catch them all (Serebii seems pretty creditable). Yeah, you definitely need to go out to catch them. Like I've seen people catching Dragtini near the beach and stuff. And about Staryu, I've caught quite a few in my bathroom or sink
For Koffing, I'm not sure. I actually went to an alley where restaurant would usually dump their trash and stuff hoping to find Grimar. I don't think there's a definite area to find them, but you should find Koffing in city like setting because if air pollution and trash being everywhere.
But I do agree that some Pokemon location are so random. A few pages back, I've stated how I caught Goldeen and Poliwag in my room.

Hey can someone explain the gym process? So if you go to a gym, what happens? Can you choose any Pokemon you've caught? Do you earn EXP points by winning? Do you actually have moves with PP? This app needs a guide or manual desperately. It is confusing.

So my friends Pokemon Go doesn't show wild Pokemon. It has everything else fine, PokeStops show up and she gets items from them as normal. She used an incense to see if that helped and it didn't. But when she downloaded it last night she was able to catch a couple of Pokemon. She restarted the app a few times and the servers seemed fine (mine was working fine). Does anyone know how to fix this?

I just caught SEVEN more Pokemon on my one hour trip outside
Nidoran (Male)
Bellasprout (It literally popped up for a second out of no where. It wasn't in my nearby. I got lucky)
Paras
Then near the dam I live by...
Poliwag
Psyduck
Slowpoke
And on my way to the dam, there was an Oddish, but everytime I tried walking toward it, I would lose him off my "nearby". So I tried back tracking and it was gone. On the way home, the same thing happened. He must've been hiding from me!
Then after I gave up on Oddish I was like I'm going home. I was about to step my foot into my driveway when Horsea popped up How did Horsea travel so far from the dam? Poor thing. He needed water. Maybe that's why he was so hard to catch (He was pissed outside of the water). He escaped two of my Pokeballs, I wasted like 6 on him and on the final throw I caught him!
Horsea.
I have a total of 21 Pokemon now!
