Neither of them are in the top 5 on iTunes meaning their fans dont care enough to actually pay for their music.

There's no point in buying music on iTunes if you have Apple Music or Spotify. The only people who buy music on iTunes these days are old/out of touch people. That's why Apple is even considering ending iTunes.

They already occupied the top 5 multiple times so your statement doesn't even make any sense.

To put it simply, you're wrong. And I could go into so many reasons why, but this short essay of mine can sadly only touch on a few on the minor problems. If you would prefer, I could write a full novel about why I don't like steaming and out it for sale on iTunes. Actually, I think I might do that.
Before I start the essay, I'll answer your question, if people have the services, they might own those services for features to discover new music, and use it along with iTunes as a way of then purchasing that music that they discovered. These people might even use iTunes as their main service and typically listen to music there and that's where they but everything. That's personally what I would do if I had the subscription, paying for the music, even if you don't use iTunes, which I always do, because I love iTunes, is a donation for art, and it shows that you care and love what they do, and it helps them make better music in the future, and it shows that you respxt the art. For instance, I always buy charity singles because I care for the causes and I want to help and help the art used to help.
So anyway, here's a short essay for you, telling you why I don't like Streaming despite me being young and very in touch. I could be low-key about it, but I've already thrown enough shade. I hope my writing's on fleek so you can be thirsty for more I rarely use those terms, but I'm still in touch with them and I obviously know what they mean. So I'm going to start the essay now. Thanks for reading it.
As a note of caution, I must warn you that this essay contains strong opinions. As another reminder, as a human being I am entitled to opinions, and neither of our opinions are facts, but they are our opinions and are very valid and real to us so you should respect them. I like iTunes and I'll never use streaming because I hate everything about it it, so please stop trying to act like my opinion isn't valid.
Ok, I think you're ready for the essay now.
But first let me add a warning and hide this in spoilers.

I understand why people stream and quite honestly idgaf if they do. I actually find it admirable and very generous that they are catering to the poor like this, so shouldn't I be greatful for the food stamps of the music industry, more commonly known as Streaming? Well no, because Streaming is the Goodwill of music, meant for the poor, and often abused by those who are far better off. They're willing to use these services, even though really no one cares about the product they are buying, only doing it out of neccisarity and wanting the cheapest option, so because you're cheap, you get tons of things you don't want, and you're ashamed to use it, but hey at least it's still works, and people do it because it's cheap, and now you see why Streaming is just like used clothing.
Now I'm very young and very in touch to music, but unlike most people sadly these days, I respect art. Music deserves to be paid for, and I'll happily pay for it, Plus I just hate everything about streaming, from the layout, to the subscriptions, to the exclusive singles, and the way the artists don't get paid, I could go on for hours. Like I said, I've used the free trial of Spotify for like a day because I wanted to hear Body Say, hated everything about it.
On the free version I hate how they make you shuffle it
And most of all, I HATE, no I can't f***ing stand it, when people call this the future of music, because in a sane world it's not. The music industry shouldn't let this happen to theirselves, they should've known better and prevented it. Because people are too cheap to buy it anymore.
Even if, I'd still want to pay for it. I don't want a subscription, I want to pay individually for all the songs I want to hear, directly support music I like and help it climb up the iTunes Charts.
It's called having a f***ing opinion. Never once have I critized anyone for using it. I'll just keep using iTunes peacefully because I like it a lot better. Leave me alone.
Maybe in a few years I'll get a Spotify or Apple Music subscription just as a way to discover a few songs that I want to buy on iTunes, and thousands of others I want to skip, I'll admit, but that's probably the only good thing I can say about it. But even then, I don't like it, because I don't want listening to music to feel like a chore, and from the few times I've tried playlists, that's what it's felt like. Either it's a ton of really boring music by amateurs trying to make a quick buck, or when I base a playlist off of an artist I like, it's just a ton of super boring album tracks that I don't care about.
Plus I'd like to be able to make my own customizable playlists like I do on iTunes. But even I could, I like. It's worth more to me to pay for individual song to use it.
iTunes is the more advanced and better software, I like all the elements with it, I love everything about the iTunes Store, being able to see, I love the previews, when I want to hear a sample of the song so I can know what it sounds like without nessiciarily hearing the whole thing, and if I'm interested, I can pay to hear it in full. I love all the settings Apple has, but I do wish could see how many plays each songs has like on a computer. The new updates for the music app are awful, and I absoulty hate how they're trying to shove Apple Music down our faces, when I just want to listen with iTunes. I disabled Apple Music from it, but it still appears somewhat like Apple Music's format, it seems like they don't even care about loyal iTunes users anymore, and I f***ing hate that. Like I said before, they're trying to shove Apple Music into us, when iTunes is so much better in every way. The only reason I could think of using it was if I had financial problems and couldn't afford it. Streaming is like is generic store brand food, it's bad, but the people behind it don't care, and people will only buy it because it's cheap. No, it's not even that, I'm giving Streaming too much credit. Streaming is like buying a generic store brand subscription, guaranteeing the lowest quality service, but wow! The Food at such a low price that it'll make the workers starve because they aren't getting paid enough to live safely. That's streaming.
Apple is just taking money away from theirselves because iTunes can make them so much more. They're practically a monopoly got digitally purchased music. It's like the music industry wants to lose.
Who would've thought those free music scams in the App Store, you know those, "I promise were legal! Because we pay our artists fractions of a penny and give you ads or make you pay. We're legal, and we suck too, give us money now, and throw any respect you've ever has for music away today!" Scams would've become a thing. You just have them tricking big companies into working with them, because now the apps look nicer and people and people don't respect art, labels are dooming themselves and the artists because they were tricked by these scammers. It's depressing that even Apple has its own scam. I want to start a legal petition to make streaming services illegal, and make people respect beautiful art.
Even with all the declines Apple has made, iTunes is still much better then Apple Music or any other steaming service. iTunes has a genius, unmatched perfect paying system that directly benifits the artists and shows them how much you care and love your art. That genius flawless system. Wow! What a concept! And all for the extremely low price of 1 dollar. But apparently even that is too much for some. You probably spent more on Candy Crush in app purchases then you would on iTunes in a year. In app purchases are a scam too, but that's for another essay.
This is my opinion, because you're never going to convince me to stream, and I'm much happier actually paying for art.
I could discuss this for days, there's a lot more I want to cover in full detail in other essays if you want me to.
Just remember that I'm allowed to have an opinion, and Have a wonderful day. And if you all want to use Streaming, you can, it's ok, I don't judge.

Well I mean okay @ that essay but it's still not going to change the fact and numbers that streaming is the future of music and is literally saving it from being completely taken over by pirating
