For the percentage of crimes they commit, White, Hispanic and Other communities are more likely to be shot and/or killed by police officers than the Black community.

94% of all crimes against the Black community are comitted by the Black community.

Why does the BLM movement seem to ignore there is also a clear problem within the Black community?

More Black Americans are killed by bad diet and lack of exercise than police or violence. The sheer ignorance of bringing that up when the issue of police violence(racist institutions) on black people(minority group) is the current and subject is appalling. It shows a huge bias and victim blaming mentality that's clearly race based.

It wasn't always like this. This is actually quite a recent development.

I'd venture to say it's partly for economic reasons and partly the way the police target black communities contributes to the self-development of these communities. For example:

and let's also add that BLM addresses the race issue and the issue of the abuse of power, so how in the world is a crime against a black person, committed by a black person, racism in anyway? please learn how and what to research.

So we do talk about it, it's just harder to change systemic injustices when the wider public is resistant to any black progress on every front. There's a reason blacks attained freedom from slavery in 1863, the right to vote in 1869, the military was desegregated in 1948, Jim Crow was struck down in 1954, the voting rights act was passed in 1965, etc, etc.

Now is the time to end mass incarceration and economic oppression in the black community.

Progress and justice for the black community comes piece-wise, and never in one fell swoop. Because blacks being free to live their lives still scares some white folks.

I can see that if black on black crime reached a national discussion platform like police killings or mass shootings, a lot of America would rebuff it by attributing any and all black failures to solely black work ethic or "homes w/o fathers" because it's easier than looking in the mirror and seeing the ugly reflection of state sanctioned discrimination and the legacy it's left behind.

It has to be talked about at some point because Black on Black crime is higher in statistics than any other crime in Anerica and every weekend in Chicago and Detroit it happens and the percentage of black on black crime goes up, I just seen that on Memorial Day weekend 69 killings occur in Chicago and they were all black on black shootings and there is proof of this happening ALOT but there is never a BLM protest, debates, or media outrage. I'm not defending white cops but facts are facts... in a way it's a double standard does a black life matter more when it's taken away by a white men?

it's time the real problem is discuss in all honesty and "BlackLivesMatter" needs to be called out for their constant silence on this issue.

Except the stats show the Black community commit the most crimes in the US, especially within their own community. Do you want there to be a cap on the number of Blacks in jail? Please explain this to me, as I don't understand it.

I also would like an informed BLM advocate to explain the objective of the movement. Like what is the actual goal? Merely to raise awareness or to actually solve issues? If the latter, how?

I see above somebody compared BLM to the freedom of slaves and the right to vote, but that feels disproportionate. What does BLM realistically hope to achieve?

You mean to tell me that a community that had systematic oppression, wealth inequality, and drugs pushed onto them, and never had robust education and economic opportunities commit crimes at a higher rate than those who aren't in the same situation?

Why are people like you so intent on changing the subject? BLM is about state sanctioned violence against black people. This is a separate issue from the social ills affecting black communities, of which there are many groups fighting against.

Black on black crime is only ever brought up to stifle discussion on state sanctioned violence against black people.

The LGBTQ doesn't have this issue tho
