both are huge and global, but which is bigger?

i know 1D and M5 are huge in America's and Europe so I'll try and assess the continent that I have an inkling of the most:

One Direction: Japan (they love the boybands there)

Maroon 5: South Korea (they basically mould their idol bands from M5) and Philippines

One Direction because the power of fangirls is just huge!
