Beyonce is undoubtly THE biggest star on the planet and a LEGEND. But Nicole easily takes the crown as this generation's VOCALIST. She's got the range, the power, the control, the emotion, the technique, her head voice is PHENOMENAL, her low notes are sensational, the vibrato.
And not to mention how versatile she is as a vocalist. She can NAIL any song, from Pop, Rock, Opera, Theater, Soul, Urban, Dance. She's a vocal chameleon.
So, stan goggles aside ATRL, Nicole IS currently the greatest vocalist alive. And anyone who disagrees should provide proof. I did.

Have you heard Mariah recently? She destroyed her voice throughout the years. Nicole actually turned her voice 10 times better than it was 5-10 years ago.

Her voice is even better now than it was during the Big Fat Lie era. She keeps getting better with age. And the new album shall be in the lane your described. Maybe some rock influences as well, and some theatrics, like Papi.

I still think Beyonce is a better overall vocalists than Nicole, although Nicole has her beat in some aspects.
Beyonce is definitely a close 2nd. But there are just things that Nicole can do with her voice that Beyonce can't. The note in the first video proves that. Beyonce has a certain dynamic to her voice that is unmatched. But when it comes to range, technique, control, vibrato, Nicole wins.
UGH, I would DIE for a collaboration between these 2 phenomenal ladies. They would MURDER it. Imagine, the vocals, the dancing, the energy, the fierceness, the live performances.
